Charlie Hohlbein is currently an Environmental Urban Planning Master’s student at the University of Washington. Prior to grad school she worked as a Community Environmental Conservation Volunteer for the Peace Corps in Panama. She holds a B.S. in Environmental Science and a B.A. in Spanish from Western Washington University, as well as a Professional Certificate in GIS. Charlie is passionate about the intersection of social justice and the environmental field and hopes to have a career working at the community level helping develop equitable and sustainable solutions to environmental issues. Her position at WEC focuses on the Nature’s Scorecard project in partnership with Puget Soundkeeper. Through this internship she hopes to gain a better understanding as to how policy is implemented in the real world and plays out in our Puget Sound communities.
