Our Mission
A brief description of WEC's Voter Education Program mission
We all know that the choices we
make in elections have a lasting impact on our environment. From the Governor’s
office to local city councils, our elected officials make choices every day
that affect the quality of our air, land, and water – and ultimately the
quality of our lives. An engaged, educated electorate is the key to lasting
environmental protection in the Pacific Northwest.
Our goal at the Voter Education Program is to identify those who care about environmental protection in Washington and engage them in civic action through innovation, research, and education.
These non-partisan civic engagement and voter education programs are a part of the Washington Environmental Council, an organization with a 40-year history of protecting what Washingtonians care about — our land and water, fish and wildlife, and our special way of life.
