State should not undo climate change progress
Opinion Editorial in the Bellingham Herald.
"In his first address to a Joint Session of Congress on Feb. 24,
President Obama was clear: putting responsible limits on climate
pollution is vital to our economic recovery.
"We know the country
that harnesses the power of clean, renewable energy will lead the 21st
century," he said. "So I ask this Congress to send me legislation that
places a market-based cap on carbon pollution and drives the production
of more renewable energy in America."
With such a forceful voice for action on climate change in the other Washington, sometimes it's easy to forget how important it is to take action in our Washington. However, state progress on climate change is needed now, more than ever, to put our state at the forefront of that growing clean energy economy..."
