Letter to the Editor: Climate change should be our primary issue
Letter to the Editor printed in The Bainbridge Review.
"As a person of faith, a scientist, and most importantly, a parent, I believe that we need to take bold action to avoid the most serious impacts of climate change.
We’ve heard the science, seen the photos of melting glaciers on Greenland, stranded polar bears, Katrina victims.
But if you’re like me, it still isn’t close enough to home to cause me to change my life in any dramatic way. What stops me cold, however, is asking, “Is this the legacy I want to leave my children?”
It will take a groundswell of support from the public to reverse course in our carbon emissions, but we’ve seen that a groundswell can happen!
Make this day the day you take a stand for the next generation..."
