"The state's new electronics recycling program is a victim of its own success. In 2006, the Legislature passed a law requiring electronics manufacturers to provide free waste recycling for households, businesses with fewer than 50 employees, charities, schools, and the governments of cities with fewer than 50,000 residents and counties with fewer than 125,000 residents. About 3.27 million pounds of electronic waste have been recycled through the program since it began Jan. 1..."
