Stand up for a healthy future for King County
Stand up for a healthy future for King County
King County faces enormous challenges: reducing toxic stormwater
runoff and restoring Puget Sound; saving local farms and habitat; and reducing
global warming pollution. Fortunately, there are real solutions to these
challenges, and right now we have an opportunity to chart a course that ensures
we build the kind of communities we’re proud to call home.
For the first time ever, King
County is conducting a
major update of its countywide planning policies. This is the document that
sets the foundation for all development regulations in King County.
This
is your chance to urge the King County Growth Council to adopt policies that
reduce toxic runoff into our water and support more transit. Click

WEC is joining with our partners at Futurewise and Transportation Choices
Coalition to urge the King County Growth Council to include these critical
solutions in their plan:
-
Reduce sprawl in rural areas and save waterways, wetlands, forests, and farms.
- Build urban centers that support transit, reduce toxic runoff, support safe walking and biking, and include adequate housing options and jobs for everyone.
-
Meet the state and regional global warming pollution limits and work to achieve additional science-based reductions.
It’s important that the King County Growth Council hears from you. Click here to send a message to urge them to adopt policies to build a strong, healthy future for King County.
