Position Description
The Communications & Outreach Intern would be in the thick of things, supporting WEC's Communications Director and Organizer in a variety of tasks as they work to advance WEC's policy work. WEC's work in the first part of the year will focus on advancing the 2012 Environmental Priorities in the state legislature. This is a great position for someone who is interested in learning more about environmental advocacy work from different angles.
Outreach responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, attending events on behalf of WEC, doing outreach in targeted districts, and assistance with online outreach. Communications duties will include, but are not limited to, writing projects, work with new media, website updates, maintaining paper and electronic clips, and special projects.
Excellent writing and organizational skills a must.
Hours
Depending on availability, this internship can be structured as a full-time or part-time position. We are currently accepting applications for a start date of January 2012. The internship would run through April 2012.
This internship is unpaid, but it is possible to receive academic credit.
