Review the King County Reclaimed Water Comprehensive Plan, weigh the costs and benefits of reclaimed water, and discover research opportunities.
Wastewater can go through additional treatment and be “reclaimed” for other uses, including recharging streams, irrigating parks, gardens, farms, and golf courses, recharging groundwater, wetland enhancement, and industrial processes. This could help to greatly conserve our drinking water supply. However, only a tiny percentage of wastewater in King County is currently reclaimed for such uses. Because of this, King County is writing its Reclaimed Water Comprehensive Plan that will weigh the costs and benefits of expanding the County's capacity to produce reclaimed water.
Through engaging presentations and an interactive breakout session, this seminar will inform you about the Reclaimed Water Comprehensive Plan and the costs and benefits of this resource, and you'll have a chance to share your concerns and thoughts on this issue.
