New rally location! The rally will be held at the same spot as the hearing, a change from earlier alerts.
The Northwest Power and Conservation Council, our region’s official power planning agency, has just released the draft Sixth Power and Conservation Plan for public comment. The Plan assesses the region’s long-term electricity needs and identifies power sources needed to meet them.
This Wednesday, September 30th, the Council will be holding public hearings to receive input on the draft Sixth Plan. If you want to help get the Northwest off coal and on the right track toward clean energy, this is your chance to weigh in!
Though the draft plan features aggressive energy efficiency and renewables targets, the actions prescribed would only stabilize global warming emissions, but not reduce them. It’s critical that we speak up at these hearings to ensure the NPCC approves a final plan that provides the region with a path to reduce our carbon emissions.
RSVP for the event!
