What the ice tells us about the past may help us understand the future. It can also help guage the health of the planet. In his book, Planet Ice, photographer James Martin examines the characteristics of polar, mountain, and tropical ice. He explores human concepts of ice and wilderness; the far-reaching effects of climate change on people and iconic wildlife including penguins and polar bears; and our responsibilities as stewards of the natural world. Planet Ice illuminates the profound connection between ice - at once mutable and forceful - and the well-being of our global community.
Held at the Mountaineers Program Center.
Tickets are $12 general admission, $8 for Mountaineers members, and can be purchased at the Mountaineers Bookstore or by calling (206) 521-6001.
