Western Washington University Professor John Miles will be interviewed about his book “Wilderness in National Parks: Playground or Preserve?” Miles explores how the National Park Service, nearly 100 years into its existence, still struggles with the often-conflicting policy goals of preservation and recreation within parks. Miles will be interviewed by TVW, the state public affairs cable television network, for its weekly Author’s Hour program. The taped interview will air on TVW Sunday Nov. 1 at noon, 7 & 10 p.m.
