On Saturday, October 24th, take a stand for climate action!
The 350 International Day of Climate Action at Seattle Center is educational, free, family-friendly and fun.
At 3:00 pm thousands will form the numbers 3, 5 and 0 on the Fountain Lawn to highlight their involvement in this global event. Simultaneously speakers, including Mayor Nickels and other community leaders, will talk about the importance of tackling climate change. A photo of everyone making a giant 350, the safe upper limit of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere in parts per million, will be taken from above at exactly 3:50 p.m. in honor of that all-important number, 350. The current amount of carbon dioxide in the earth’s atmosphere is just over 385 PPM.
We clearly we need to act NOW to bring this number down and stabilize our climate -- we CAN do this by taking action in our communities, and making our voices heard.
There are events happening all across Washington. Click here to find an event near you.
